Woodwind have in general a beautifull sweet tone. Flute and Clarinet are usually most popular.

A very good advantage is that they are usually very easy to carry and to store as they are much smaller than the rest of the instruments.

The Flute

A very popular instrument in the orchestra. The Flute also plays some of the most popular melodies that we know. It is also very popular in flok music and it can also be played for solo pieces.

The Clarinet

The Clarinet has a mellower sound compared to the Flute. It is also very popular and it can be used in Jazz bands as well as orchestras. Musicians once they learnt to play the Clarinet they usually find easier to play the saxophone after.

The Saxophone

Often confused as a brass instrument. Due to its mouth piece, the Saxophone belongs to the woodwind family. It is a very versatile and can be played for solo pieces, Jazz bands, wind bands and it is very usued for rock music.

The Oboe

The Oboe has a double reed which gives a different tone. It is a much more expensive instrument which makes it less popular. It is a very rewarding instruments to learn however.

The Bassoon

The Bassoon is the largest instrument of its family and it has a very deep and lower sound compared to the rest. It is perhaps the most expensive woodwind instrument. Nevertheless is is an extremely rewarding instrument to play.
